Via the indefatigable Steve Smith (whose gig-going schedule apparently doesn't miss a beat even when he's down in Richmond VA visiting his fiancée), I learn that eighth blackbird are jumping on the bandwagon with both feet: they have just unveiled their newly-minted blog (apparently maintained by their newly-minted member -- I wonder if "must blog" was listed among the audition requirements?), and they have also just pulled the shrinkwrap off of their first podcast, which features an brief interview with the great, famously irascible composer-pianist Fred Rzewksi.
(Context: they are talking about the improvised cadenzas they each play in Rzewski's "Pocket Symphony," a work commissioned and recorded by the ensemble.)
Thanks for the link! And thanks for givin the Rzewski podcast a bit of context - I must add that to the post, so that peeps have some idea what the group is talking about.
Regards
Tim

Hey Tim,
Thanks for stopping by! Your 8BB NYC hit in January coincides with our own appearance at IAJE, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it down to the Kitchen to hear you guys then... but I love the Rzewski record and I'm really looking forward to hearing the group live soon.
Anyway, welcome to blogdonia, and remember: don't feed the trolls.
